The Books that got me through 2020

I had a goal to read 30 books in 2020. It was lofty in the first place, but I also didn’t expect the year to turn out the way it did. So, when I was 20 books behind schedule, I scaled back and changed it to a goal of 20 books in 2020. I am 3 books shy of that goal (with two in progress, to be finished in 2021).

I have read 17 books and 5,972 pages. Here are the books I’ve read and their star rating (out of 5):

  1. Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han ★★★★☆

  2. One Day in December by Josie Silver ★★★★★

  3. Normal People by Sally Rooney ★★★★☆

  4. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston ★★★★☆

  5. Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver ★★★★★

  6. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson ★★★★★

  7. Little Monsters by Kara Thomas ★★☆☆☆

  8. Talking as Fast as I can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls by Lauren Graham ★★★★★

  9. Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland ★★★★★

  10. Hems and Homicide by Elizabeth Penney ★★☆☆☆ (DNF)

  11. The Midnight Library by Matt Haig ★★★★★

  12. I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella ★★★★☆

  13. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman ★★★★☆

  14. Rough by Robin van Eck ★★★★★

  15. Untamed by Glennon Doyle ★★★★★

  16. Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch ★★★★☆

  17. It’s Not You It’s Him by Sophie Ranald ★★★★☆

The two I have started and will finish next year are The Switch by Beth O’Leary and Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

Next year, I hope to read 20 books and maybe more. But I’ll keep my goals modest for now. I have lofty plans to write a detailed book review of each and post them here for you to enjoy. I have all the books already picked out and ready to read.

Happy New Year, everyone!
